Where do I even begin! Lets start with this- 35 more school days left.
Ok… now that the most important fact has been covered, I can move on to a happier topic- Spring Break 2014!
As usual, my family of 4 piled into our small sedan with 3 suitcases, two giant bags of food, a large cooler, 8 pillows, a camera bag, 2 beach bags, 2 carry on bags, 2 purses and a briefcase. No, we weren’t crowded at all, I totally wanted to sit cross legged for 4 hours straight : )
Every year we are lucky enough to stay at a beautiful house that a friend of the family owns, so we basically make it an extension of being home: familiar food, comforts and a more relaxed feel make it the perfect laid back spring break without all of the pressure of a big vacation. Plus, Charleston is only about 4 hours away from where we live, so its drive-able!
The first day (the day we drove in) we arrived in Charleston around lunch time and stopped in a unique restaurant called the Triangle Char & Bar. The atmosphere was super unique as was the food!
I got a yummy spaghetti squash and shrimp dish- I LOVE spaghetti squash and couldn’t believe I found it in a restaurant!
The next days kind of blurred together to be honest LOL! But- I took a ton of pictures of my surroundings, which I would have loved to share, but I accidentally deleted the camera roll on my phone the last day we were there… it was a tragic display of user error as I lost 490 photos from the last 6 months! Here is what remained LOL!
The beach was beautiful, but the water was a little cool for swimming- still perfect for picture taking!
I like to call this “The Lone Palm Tree”
The tree lined streets in South Carolina are like no other!
The community of Seabrook had a lot going on too! This is the beach house by one of the main pools:
There was a little music festival going on down town the first day we got in and I managed to snap a pic of the flowers in all of the chaos! There were old and young people alike dancing, eating BBQ and ice cream off the food trucks and dogs panting in the heat- it was the quintessential family environment and I loved every second being there- it was a true piece of Americana!
Oh, and I managed to snap an OOTD pick too ; )
I went walking a lot while I was there- the flowers were in full bloom and beautiful!
We also went shopping, where I found my prom dress and a couple of finds from Forever 21! Also, keep your eyes peeled for a Spring Break Haul on my YouTube Channel!
Overall, it was a wonderful trip just as it is every year! I look forward to hopefully visiting again soon!
